Niamh Sharkey Christmas Window

Laureate na n-Og, Niamh Sharkey worked with the children of Griffeen Valley Educate Together this morning to produce more art for the Hodges Figgis Christmas Window.

Niamh Sharkey to Paint in Christmas Window at Hodges Figgis

After the huge success of PJ Lynch's Christmas Window event last year, Childrens' Laureate Niamh Sharkey will paint the backdrop and design the window at Hodges Figgis for Christmas 2012.
Niamh is at present extrememly busy in her studio at Ardgillan Castle, preparing the backdrop based on an illustration from her book Santasaurus.  It's a mammoth task as the board is 8 ft x 4ft!  On Monday 26th, Niamh will be joined by a group a children from Griffen Valley school in Lucan who will help her decorate lots of stars for the window.

Anthony Horowitz completed his Dublin tour on Saturday with a visit to each of the Dublin City Centre bookshops followed by a signing in Eason O Connell St.

Norton Virgien At Skerries Soundwaves Festival

 

Norton Virgien, Director of Rugrats and the forthcoming Henry Hugglemonster (by Niamh Sharkey and Brown Bag Films) visited Skerries Soundwaves Festival on Saturday to talk to children about drawing for annimation.   We all got to watch a classic episode of Rugrats and an exclusive first viewing of a scene from Henry Hugglemonster.  Niamh Sharkey showed everyone how to draw Henry so Brown Bag films have plenty of new talent on the way!
