Walker Éireann launches second phase of publishing

Following the huge success of last years publishing programme,Walker Éireann has launched four new Irish language titles this week featuring Laureate na n-Og Niamh Sharkey, Kevin Waldron, Sam McBratney and Martin Waddell.  Hodges Figgis, Dublin installed this window display today.

We've seen a steady increase in sales of all of Cassandra Clare's books since the beginning of 2013 but the release of the Mortal Instruments movie last week has caused a surge in sales.
This week in the Irish Childrens and Young Adult chart, Cassandra is now No1...and No.2...and No. 3...and No.4...and No. 7...and No.8!!!!

Childrens Books Ireland Conference 2013

If you are involved in childrens bookselling, an aspiring author or illustrator or interested in a career in childrens book publishing you should really attend this year conference in The Lighthouse Cinema.
Herve Tullet (pub. by Walker Books and Tate Publishing) and Jon Klassen (pub. by Walker Books) will speak on Saturday and Sunday 18th &19th May.

You will also hear John Boyne interviewed by Robert Dunbar, see Sarah McIntyre discuss the development of Comic book formats,  Alex T Smith on the importance of the 5-8yrs market, Sarah Crossan on the use of poetry in her YA novel and Colman O Raghallaigh on the challenges facing Irish Language Publishing.
