Mirror by Jeannie Baker has won the
Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Education category of the British Book Design
and Production Awards.
The award was
announced last week and collected by Alan Lee
and Nicola Constable from Walker Books at a glittering
production and design evening held at the The Lancaster London Hotel. The event
was themed ‘Once Upon a Time’ … to celebrate just what
remarkable achievements have been made in the last year in the quest to bring
out the best in British book design and production.
The judge’s had
nothing but lovely things to say about Mirror:
“Great eye
catching design inside and out, good use of illustrations, well printed, we
loved the layout and concept.”
In addition to
Mirror winning its category, two Walker
titles were also Highly Commended in the Children’s Trade category –
both A Bit Lost and A Monster Calls rightly received this
commendation.
